Ocean Trekker Expeditions - What to Expect
Accommodations: There is a cozy main salon with ample seating, rich woodwork and brass lantern lighting, a small library, satellite TV with VCR, theater stereo system, and of course a self service bar with complementary locally brewed beer, house wine, sodas, and water. You’re free to bring your own spirits on board and mix up a tropical drink or your favorite libation.
Topside aft is an outdoor eating area w/ propane grill and forward the huge deck is an inviting place for sunbathing, reading, or sleeping under the stars. The three individual passenger cabins, while compact, offer all of the comforts of home. The master cabin is equipped with a queen bed and a private head with shower, the V-berth has a double and two singles, and shares a head and shower with the bunk room with two singles. There are 110 volt outlets, hairdryer, porthole, individual A/C controls and rich woodwork. As with any vessel, storage is limited so packing in soft sided duffle bags is recommended.
Fellow Passengers: Your fellow passengers are likely to be an eclectic group of individuals from all walks of life. The person next to you might be a doctor, lawyer, or cashier at the local grocery store and nobody really knows or cares. For this time period you are all ocean enthusiasts. Dress is extremely casual with swim suits or shorts and T shirts being the norm.
Food: Food is prepared with quality, variety, local when possible and with aloha always. Sure to please the most discriminating palate, casual breakfast, lunch, and dinners are provided aboard ship using savory local ingredients and freshly caught seafood. Meals are served indoors or can be enjoyed outside in comfortable seating where the salt air is sure to increase one's appetite. Most dietary restrictions can be accommodated and tasty alternatives are always available. Make any special needs or request known at time of reservation. Bringing alcohol on board is permitted.
Bringing the Kids: Children 12 years and older are allowed. Every parent will vouch that fun for kids is often a matter of ‘just add water’. Trekker cruising vacations reconnect kids with nature, with their families, while also serving up a healthy dose of exercise! Blackout dates and restrictions apply. Check with reservations.
Solo Travelers: We will attempt to match you with a same gender cabin mate or if you prefer, a private cabin is available at 175% of the standard rate.
Physically Challenged: Passengers are required to navigate steep stairs and have the ability to get in and out of the boat at docks or into kayaks. This trip may not be suited for persons with extreme mobility issues.
Smoking: Smoking is allowed on the aft open deck area only. Smoking in cabins or below deck is strictly prohibited.
Shore Excursions: Island tours, rental cars and scuba diving are recommended on our destination pages.
Entertainment: Snorkel equipment and floatation devices are included. Special events such as cultural visits or festivals onshore are sometimes arranged by the captain. Each morning consists of a discussion about things to do, destinations for the day, and insightful tips on getting around the island. Flexible itineraries maximize each day's experience. We will keep you updated through out the day, or join us on the flybridge for first-hand information.
